Savor the Symphony Benefits the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League

Savor the Symphony, a Candlelight Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein, will be presented by The Compass School of Texas to benefit the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League as it celebrates its 80th anniversary. The event will take place Thursday, November 6, 2025, at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201. A cocktail reception begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 7:00 p.m.

Honorary chairs for the evening are Laurie Sands Harrison and her daughters Caroline Harrison Loehr, Francis Brito Harrison, Bailey Harrison, and Hassie Harrison. Event chairs are Reagan Pace, Sheridan Reeder and Sunie Solomon. Claire Catrino serves as president.

A Candlelight Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein will celebrate one of the greatest melodic and lyrical partnerships of all time with both a string and piano performance designed to capture the magnificent music of a generation. Guests will be treated to a cocktail reception, live auction, and a candlelit seated dinner while enjoying musicians performing amidst the glow of over three thousand candles.

Since the founding of Savor the Symphony in the fall of 2000, the event has raised more than a million dollars benefiting DSO education and outreach programs. Wine sponsors for the evening include Adair Family Wines for the Savor Event and Spottswoode for the Patron Party. Attire for the event is black tie.

Individual patron tickets are $500 and $1,500 with varying benefits. Patron levels begin at $5,000 and extend up to $100,000, which is sold. Benefits vary according to the level of purchase. Proceeds from the event benefit the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and its youth education and community engagement programs. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League has raised more than $25 million in support of the DSO. Funds raised by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League support transformative DSO programs, including the Cecil and Ida Green Youth Concert Series, which introduces Dallas youth to the inspiring world of classical music through accessible concerts at the Meyerson; each year more than 10,000 children participate in these experiences.

Funds also support DSO Cares, which brings the wellness benefits of music to seniors in living facilities, hospitals, community centers and more; each performance showcases a chamber ensemble of DSO musicians that is free for attendees and community partners. The Kim Noltemy Young Musicians and Young Strings programs annually provide free instruments and instruction to 400 children primarily from Southern and East Dallas. Collectively, these programs have served more than 6,800 students and outpace similar youth programs with highly intensive training and a 100 percent high school graduation and college acceptance rate. Additionally, funds support Bach's Lunch, an ongoing adult education series of free, informal talks designed to connect music lovers through a shared passion for classical music.
