Preservation Park Cities has announced plans for its annual Distinguished Speaker Luncheon, set for Monday, October 27, 2025, at a private club in Dallas. The signature event will highlight Texas preservation and raise vital funds for the organization's mission of celebrating and safeguarding the architectural and cultural heritage of the Park Cities.
This year's featured speaker is Brent Hull, a nationally recognized master builder and preservationist. Known for his historically accurate architectural millwork and moldings, Hull has devoted more than three decades to enhancing significant properties across the country. A graduate of Boston's North Bennet Street School, he later founded Hull Millwork & Hull Homes in Fort Worth, where his craftsmanship has become synonymous with authentic traditional building. He has authored five books on historic millwork, including his newest release, Millwork: The Design and Manufacturing of Historic Millwork from 1740-1950.
The program will begin with a reception featuring passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a seated luncheon and Hull's presentation. Guests will also hear updates from Preservation Park Cities leadership, including chairs Lauren Cooper and Porter Fuqua, along with PPC President Jason Morski. The event is designed not only to inspire appreciation for preservation but also to emphasize its role in shaping quality of life throughout the Park Cities communities.
Individual tickets are priced from $300, while table sponsorships range from $3,000 to $10,000 with tiered benefits. Marketing sponsorships are available at levels between $5,000 and $7,500. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased online here.
Proceeds from the luncheon, along with other annual PPC fundraisers such as the Historic Home Tour and the Park Cities Car Show, directly support the organization's initiatives. These include property landmarking, stewardship of the PPC archives at the University Park Library, student scholarships, and the Distinguished Chair for History at Highland Park High School. Funds also aid the Save the Top 100
campaign and the production of The Houses of the Park Cities: An Architectural Guide to the Historic Houses of Highland Park and University Park Texas.
Since its founding, Preservation Park Cities has worked to promote awareness of the community's architectural treasures while offering educational programs for members and the public. The annual Historic Home Tour, for example, showcases homes of architectural and historical significance and illustrates how they have been adapted for modern family living. The Distinguished Speaker Luncheon represents a continuation of this mission, combining inspiration, education, and community engagement in one of the Park Cities' most elegant traditions.
