Responsibility and Innovation: Driving Forces to Propel the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta

Volkswagen is committed to furthering the development of attractive, connected, and intelligent vehicles.

Now focused on responsibility, innovation, and contributing to the greater good, Volkswagen as a brand is determined to place itself in a forward-moving position. And so, the company's best-selling model is currently postured to be a step in the right direction. Redesigned with a tasteful feel, competitive edge, and price tag starting at just $18,745, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta has rolled onto the scene with more advance technology than ever including a new set of digital displays and a full suite of driver-assistance features.

Powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI® engine paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission or available eight-speed automatic with start/stop system, the fun-to-drive Jetta achieves 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and an EPA-estimated 34 mpg combined fuel economy rating. The driver-focused interior can be upgraded with an assortment of available features like 10-color customizable interior ambient lighting, a power panoramic sunroof that tilts and slides, heated and ventilated leather front seating surfaces, and two-tone V-Tex leatherette seats. The Jetta can also store up to four driver profiles via Volkswagen's innovative MIB II touchscreen infotainment display which utilizes a tablet-like capacitive-touch sensor as well as smartphone integration and Bluetooth® technology for compatible devices.

Passive and active safety systems help occupants by featuring six standard airbags along with electronic safety systems such as anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, standard rearview camera, and standard automatic post-collision braking which potentially reduces residual kinetic energy and the chance of additional damage to the vehicle. The Jetta also offers confidence-building innovation through available driver-assistance features including adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, light assist for better driving on dark roads, lane assist to prevent vehicle drifting, forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, and rear traffic alert to help prevent rear collisions. Not surprisingly therefore, the Jetta has been awarded a 5-star overall safety rating by the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Standard on SEL and SEL Premium trims, the advanced 10" Volkswagen Digital Cockpit system replaces traditional instrument gauges with a high-resolution fully-digital cluster of customizable vehicle information. The available VW Car-Net® Security & Service also adds a novel layer of vehicle protections. If you leave the sunroof open and there is rain in the near forecast, the VW Car-Net mobile app can send you a notification. If you accidentally leave your car unlocked, the app can let you know to lock the doors remotely. And the parking information feature can help locate off-street parking near a particular destination and even send the location to your in-vehicle navigation system if so equipped.

In these ways and more, Volkswagen is committed to furthering the development of attractive, connected, and intelligent vehicles.
