Throw on your mood ring, check your Magic 8-Ball, get a sitter for the pet rock, and head on over to The Magic Time Machine (the Addison restaurant, not the DeLorean). Block out plenty of time to hit the We Are 1976 boutique on Greenville, the Curiosities emporium in Lakewood, or Lula B's east of downtown before perusing through Dallas Vintage Toys and Lone Star Comics or venturing over to The Eight Track Museum in Deep Ellum.
If you get low on Pop Rocks, you can easily refuel at Candy Corn's in Snider Plaza or Mom & Popcorn in McKinney (they have candy necklaces and Chick-O-Sticks). Check for candy cigarettes or maybe glass-bottled root beers.
Check the schedules for one of these great cover bands that spend their weekends throwing a tribute back to a time when Nicolas Cage was ‘tripendicular' and life was like, totally bitchin'. A few include Blaze of Glory (Bon Jovi), Escape (Journey), Bricks In The Wall (Pink Floyd), Destroyer (KISS), Kraig Parker (Elvis), A Hard Night's Day (Beatles), Le Freak (70's), M80s (80's new wave), Poison Cherry (80's rock). If you're lucky, you might find yourself with a touch of the Saturday Night Fever and hosting your own little Breakfast Club!
