In conjunction with the Hilton
Anatole's $25 million "Wave of Change" transformation of
its Atrium II space, visitors will soon be able to
experience one of world-renowned artist Reuben
Margolin’s newest installations, “Nebula”. A dramatic,
slowly moving kinetic structure made of 10 miles of
aircraft cable, 1,780 pulleys and over 4,500 amber
crystals, Nebula (“cluster of stars”) measures almost
100 feet long and 50 feet wide and is the largest
mechanism Margolin has ever built.
The piece will resemble a large
wave, appearing to float or ‘swim’ fifty feet above the
atrium space, moving slowly in a wavelike dance and
complementing the completely redesigned public seating
areas below as well as the indoor landscaping, peaceful
reflecting pool, and chic new dining areas. The
renovated space is the final touch on the hotel’s recent
$125 million transformation. |
