It has become a cherished tradition for more than a decade for Dallas Black Dance Theatre to dance to the St. Paul United Methodist Church choir during Sunrise Easter Service. The service will take place Sunday March 27, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. inside the church located at 1816 Routh Street, Dallas, Texas 75201.
All of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre performing companies and ensembles will take part in the Easter service. This includes the 12 professional dancers of DBDT, the 8 dancers of the semi-professional company DBDT II, as well as the talented youth dancers in the Dallas Black Dance Academy Allegro, Senior and Junior performing ensembles. DBDT and DBDT II will perform separately to songs sung live by the St. Paul Choir. The 37 members of the three ensemble groups will dance together with the live choir.
We always look forward to all the performing members of Dallas Black Dance Theatre working with the live choir at St. Paul United Methodist Church, said Nycole Ray DBDT II Artistic Director.
We hope the performance is as exhilarating for the audience as it is for us to take part in the service.
