Photo Recap: Artscape Patron of the Arts Party at Hall Arts

Works by artists including George Tobolowsky and Deborah Ballard were seen on the tour of the Hall Collection.

Mother Nature smiled brightly on the May 9th “Artscape Patron of the Arts Party” at Hall Arts. A perfect spring evening, without a cloud in the sky, lit up the Texas Sculpture Walk surrounding the building.? Hall Collection Curator Patricia Meadows led guests on a walking tour of the extensive collection compiled by Craig Hall.


Works of art by Artscape artists including George Tobolowsky and Deborah Ballard were seen on the tour of the Hall Collection. Tobolowsky’s flower sculpture, “Looking for Light,” created from found objects and welded steel, was included in Artscape’s Invitational Fine Art Auction. Ballard’s figure, “Passive/Aggressive” of plaster, pigment, graphite and iron was also included in the auction. The sculpture was a gift from the artist and Valley House Gallery and Sculpture Garden.


Patron Chairs Jane and Chick Pierce welcomed guests to the event. The Dallas Arboretum and Jackson Walker hosted the Patron Party. Kaki Hopkins is chair of Artscape Reimagined 2017, which was held April 28-30. Artscape Reimagined featured 90 artists and a number of craftsmen displaying their work throughout the Arboretum’s Pecan Grove, the Gardens, and DeGolyer Estate.



Entrepreneurial businessman and philanthropist Craig Hall, a lifelong art collector whose HALL Group properties display an extensive contemporary art collection, will receive the 2017 Inaugural Great Contributor to Art Award. The award will be presented by Artscape Award Chair Gloria Snead and Dallas Arboretum Chairman of the Board Mark Wolf at the May 12 gala.


The Artscape Award Dinner and Invitational Fine Art Auction will be held at Rosine Hall at the Arboretum. For more information about The Dallas Arboretum and a schedule of events, please visit:
