Growing up as the small-statured recipient of an unusually large amount of hand-me-down clothing, I've been accustomed to things not fitting right. But as the decades have passed by (and with the big 5-0 now looming in the not-too-distant future), my personal expectations have changed. I've come to appreciate custom-tailored touches like shirt sleeves that aren't too long, scarves that don't double as throw blankets, and waistbands that aren't too wide (although that seems to be slightly less of an issue than it used to be).
So you can imagine my pleasant surprise when I settled comfortably into the multi-contoured massaging front seat of the driver-focused new Lincoln MKZ. Putting a noticeably-resistant noise barrier between the serene interior cabin and busy commotion outside, this attractive mid-sized sedan offers a distinctive
quiet luxury through the use of active noise cancellation, wind-reducing vehicle aerodynamics including wind-deflecting side-view mirror placement, and a sound-sealing windshield of acoustic laminated glass.
Attention to Detail
As an in-part result of treating its customers with personal attention, the established brand's sales are up significantly year over year; and Lincoln Motor Company is currently outpacing not only the luxury industry but the non-luxury industry as well. By continuing to bring a well-crafted collection of upscale products and services to the quite-competitive mid-size market segment, Lincoln stays true to its luxury clientele and their expectation of time-saving opportunities, personally-curated experiences, and notable levels of exclusivity.
From the execution of the powertrain to the design implementation and beyond, the MKZ is an indulgent journey that begins with handsome new exterior proportions, which take design cues from a well-tailored suit, and a confident new signature grille featuring the Lincoln star emblem visually echoed throughout the redesigned mesh. Bestowing a cordially-familiar warm welcome, the MKZ greets your arrival by sensing the key fob as you approach the vehicle, then gradually illuminates the LED headlamps, casts a ground-level mat of light with the Lincoln logo beneath each side view mirror, offers a glow from the door handle as you go to pull it open, and then initiates ambient lighting and a pulsating start button to indicate the car is ready to go.
Interior style details include exclusive high-end materials for elements such as the Wollsdorf-leather-wrapped steering wheel and Bridge of Weir leather-trimmed seating from Scotland. A redesigned control panel replaces the formerly-existing swipe and touch switches with refined ergonomically-emphasized conventional knobs that allow you to quickly adjust high-usage features such as radio tuning, sound volume, and fan settings.
The MKZ's available 14-speaker Revel® Audio System and available 20-speaker Revel® Ultima System with Clari-Fi music reconstruction technology provide aural accuracy by reproducing the sound the way it was intended to be heard. The system's point source architecture ensures that occupants in each seat get the same crisp, robust sound; and specialized listening modes create distortion-reduced signal distinctions that cause it to seem as though you are either in a concert audience or alternatively right up on stage.

Show and Go
Don't be mistaken though, this elegant new vehicle's got a beautiful design aesthetic along with the mechanical power to back it up. Smoothly accelerating via an available 3.0L GTDI V6, one of the most powerful engines that Lincoln has ever produced, the twin turbo can deliver up to 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque even at a low RPM. For ease of maneuvering in corners, available Dynamic Torque Vectoring can be paired with the all-wheel drive system to shift the stopping-force grip from side to side, thereby allowing distribution to the tire with the most traction.
The MKZ comes with a number of comfort and convenience features including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, active park assist, and the helpful Auto Hold which allows you to take your foot off of the brake pedal entirely after coming to a complete stop at stop lights, in traffic, or even on a hill. To resume travel, simply press the accelerator and you're on your way.
Providing premium maintenance, superb vehicle care, and a culinary collection of exclusive dining options nationwide, the Lincoln Black Label program offers elevated privileges for its distinguished members. A selection of meticulously-crafted design themes like the traditionally-elite Thoroughbred or the avant-garde Modern Heritage offer touches like exclusive Venetian Leather selected by a 3rd-generation tannery craftsman or ethereal-looking Argento wood containing metallic dust infused between its layers.
Standard pickup and delivery service, however, is also offered on all of Lincoln's 2017 products for whatever kind of service you might need on your vehicle. Lincoln Service Valet will meet you at your home or a designated location, provide you with a complimentary loaner car, and then return your car when service had been completed. You never even have to go to the dealership.
So relax, open up the fully-retractable panoramic glass sunroof, and enjoy the luxurious new Lincoln MKZ with an MSRP starting at a very reasonable $35,010.
Go ahead, the
moment is all yours ... and it fits like a glove.
